Although decorative art is a broad field, it is not associated with
other types of art such as painting and sculpture. Decorative art deals
with objects such as ceramics, glassware, basketry, jewelry, metalware,
furniture, textiles, and clothing.
Decorative artists work in all
industries, but the industries with the highest levels of employment
include clay product and refractory manufacturing; museums, historical
sites, and similar institutions; glass and glass precuts manufacturing,
and store retailers.
