Film and Television Production Schools

Turn your interest in film into a career - earn a degree in film and television production! Students in film and television production programs learn the artistic and technical skills required to create and direct major film productions, television productions, or documentaries.

Film and television producers are responsible for all creative and technical aspects of a project, and may be responsible for keeping projects on task and on budget. Film and television producers can be called upon to direct, write scripts, design sets, manage talent, and coordinate sound and lighting. Students in film and television production programs will study mass communications, writing, and editing, and will be exposed to industry-approved software and techniques.

Film and video productions happen on a massive scale, as hundreds of employees -- between the planning stages (pre-production,) on the set (production) and in the editing room (post-production) all work toward the goal of a finished product that is in keeping with the original creative vision. Students in video production will learn the critical thinking skills necessary to maximize efficiency at each of these levels.
