Do you live to putter in the garden? Do
you find yourself buying bouquets “just for fun”?
Turn your love of flowers into a career -- enroll in
a floral design program today! Students in floral design
learn the artistic and professional skills necessary
to succeed in this competitive industry. Trained floral
designers routinely run their own businesses, and can
specialize in plant and flower arrangements for holidays
or special occasions like weddings.
Fresh flowers have the ability to brighten
spaces and make people happy -- flowers are associated
with love, romance, and happy occasions, and have a
unique ability to change the entire impression of a
space. Flower arrangements provide a punch of color,
as well as a touch of the outdoors, and help people
reconnect with nature.
Students in floral design will learn the
biology and characteristics of selected flowers, as
well as learning the history and cultural significance
of flower arrangements. Students will be able to select,
prepare, and arrange fresh flowers, all in an effort
to develop their own unique artistic style. Floral design
students will also learn the business aspects of this
field, including purchasing from suppliers, marketing
the business, design, and effective methods for communicating
with clients and presenting design ideas.
There are plenty of opportunities
for floral designers to earn a degree. Please review
