Graphic Design Schools

Graphic designers are at the foundation of most advertising and visual media. Learn to create graphics -- enroll in a graphic design program today! Graphic design students rely on a variety of influences to create comprehensive visual campaigns that may incorporate images and text. Graphic designers use both computer programs and traditional art techniques, and may work on package design, displays, or brand identity (logos and slogans.)

Working closely with art directors or clients, successful graphic designers possess the ability to capture the essence of a product or company and convey a certain aesthetic through the use of images, text, and layout. People DO judge books by their covers, (and products by their packaging!) and graphic designers must be able to convey the values and beliefs of the client.

Students in graphic design will learn industry-wide software, as well as methods for sketching out ideas and designs; when and how to use images effectively, and rules of typography and page layout. Once you have learned the technical skills, you will have the freedom to experiment and develop your personal design style through experience.

There are many opportunities to earn a degree in graphic design! Please review our featured graphic design schools to find a school near you.
